-In this lesson, computer was again been tackled since this
course is about technology. Computer is viewed as a teacher's tool in this
lesson. In fact, it supports the constructivist and social constructivist paradigms
of constructivist learning. While knowledge is constructed by the individual
learner in constructivism, knowledge can also be socially constructed. This
lesson is dealing on how the computer can aid or can help social constructivism.
It was also included in this lesson that there are capabilities of a computer.
It was said that without the computer, today's learners may still be assuming
the tedious tasks of low-level information gathering, building and new
knowledge packaging. Computer, as a tool can be informative, communicative,
constructive, co-constructive and situating tool for teachers.
E
- Computers are eye-catchers of today’s generation. Instead
of seeing it as a distraction of learning we also must see how teachers and students
benefit from this tool. These computers are of big help to me. It provides
information such as graphics, texts, sound etc. which helps me in my
assignments and researches. It also help me visualize my understandings by
making ppt presentations, etc. Certainly, these computers are tools not only to
the teacher but the students as well because it can enhance and enrich their
personal understandings also.
R
- We regarded computers as a hindrance of learning in some
ways but now I see it as a very great help to me as a future educator. I'm
using it now as a student and how much more when I'll be teaching? This, on a
deeper sense will really help me in becoming a better teacher to my students.
A
- Teachers must use computers not for self-interest and
desires but they should use it in a proper way. There are many uses of computers
and we must appreciate it. Teachers in the next generations will not depend
solely on the traditional teaching resources but they will also depend on the
computers. Teachers must only remember one thing and that is not to be enslaved
by the computers.
